Welcome to Military Families Speak Out

Who We Are

Military Families Speak Out (MFSO) is an organization of people opposed to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan who have relatives or loved ones currently in the military or who have served in the military since the buildup to the Iraq war in fall of 2002.

If this describes you, we welcome you to become a member!  Click here to join MFSO by filling out our membership form. The membership form for Gold Star Families, those whose loved ones have died as a result of the war in Iraq can be found here. If you have questions about MFSO before you join or have trouble with the sign up form, we welcome you to write to us at mfso@mfso.org.

If you don’t fit our membership, we still welcome your support. If you are not a military family, but would like to stay connected to our work, please join our supporters email list for periodic updates by entering your email address in the box on the right side of this page. If you are an Iraq War Veteran, you can also link up with Iraq Veterans Against the War (www.ivaw.org); if you are Active Duty, National Guard or Reserves, check out the Appeal for Redress Project (www.appealforredress.org); if you are a Vietnam Veteran, there is Vietnam Veterans Against the War (www.vvaw.org); and if you are a Veteran of any era, Veterans for Peace (www.veteransforpeace.org) is working to end the war in Iraq.

We would also welcome a financial contribution to help us continue the important work of organizing the voices of military families opposing the war.

History of Military Families Speak Out

MFSO was formed in 2002 by two military families, our membership now includes over 4,000 military families speaking out to end the wars in Iraq, and Afghanistan bring our troops home now, take care of them when they get here, and end the policies that allowed this war to happen.

What Being an MFSO Member Means

Being a member of Military Families Speak Out means that you will receive periodic emails with information about activities to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, information about chapters and members in your area, and helpful tips such as how to write a successful letter to the editor. It does not cost anything to be a member, and you may pick the ways you would like to participate and get involved.

Joining MFSO

Please fill in the information you feel comfortable sharing on the membership form. You can give us as much or as little information as you want. If you provide your local contact information (city, state and zip) we can more effectively connect you with members and activities in your area.

We hope you will join the growing number of military families from states across the United States, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and bases in several countries around the world whose collective voice will help bring our troops home now and get them the care they need when they get home!
