MFSO Orange County reports back on 4th of July Parade
Over 30 members and supporters of MFSO participated in the
Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade last weekend!
Overall, we were surprised to be welcomed with so many cheers,
plenty of peace signs, and very few negative comments. It has become very
apparent these past few months, even in the most conservative areas such as
this parade in Huntington Beach billed as the biggest 4th of July parade
west of the Mississippi, that our troops are being needlessly exploited for no
good reason.
We thank our local
support groups, which included members from Veterans For Peace, The Orange
County Peace Coalition, Long Beach Area Peace Network, Gold Star Families for
Peace, OC and LB RAP, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Senior Patriots Against
the War, Code Pink and other wonderful allies who have gone beyond believing in
our cause and took action to support us. We are grateful to all of you for showing Orange County that
you can support the troops by wanting the troops home now.
As we continue to struggle to keep the pressure on the public and on
those who have the power to stop this war. As we go forward we have renewed
energy and strength we gained knowing that we have you in our corner. Thank
you.
